The Liquid Underground
The Liquid Underground is the alter ego of Liquid Art Studio. My name is Britt Tobia, and I have been a professional artist in the surf industry since 1984. As a supplier of over 500 art images to the industry annually, and creative input for many large surf corporations, I felt the need to create something that reflected my true sentiments about the state of surf culture. That is how the Liquid Underground was born. The spokesperson for the Liquid Underground is a fictitious entity named Mr. Lu. Clad in black fifties style suit and sunglasses, barefooted with a board bag, Mr. Lu is about the business of surf. My whole life revolves around the beaches and surf on a small pristine slice of southern California coastline in the city of San Clemente.
